FaceTite & Small-Area Liposuction
Not every contour concern can be improved with injectables, skin treatments, or external energy-based devices alone. In some patients, a soft jawline, double chin, small resistant fat pockets, or early tissue laxity require a deeper, more structural approach.
At Dr. Saljo, FaceTite and small-area liposuction are approached as medical contouring procedures, not as standardized cosmetic treatments. Each treatment is planned individually based on anatomy, skin quality, fat distribution, tissue laxity, medical history, and realistic expectations.
The goal is not dramatic transformation, but refined contour, improved definition, and natural-looking results that remain harmonious with the individual body and face.
Science Behind
FaceTite is a minimally invasive radiofrequency-assisted treatment designed to deliver controlled thermal energy below the skin. The energy is applied through a small cannula in the subdermal tissue layer, where it can support soft tissue contraction, collagen remodeling, and contour refinement.
Unlike surface-based treatments, FaceTite works beneath the skin. This makes it especially relevant when skin laxity and localized fat contribute together to a less defined contour — for example under the chin, along the jawline, or in selected small body areas.
In some cases, radiofrequency-assisted tightening alone is sufficient. In other cases, especially when a visible fat deposit is present, FaceTite may be combined with small-area liposuction to reduce localized fat while supporting tissue contraction.
Small-area liposuction removes selected fat deposits through fine cannulas. It is not a weight-loss treatment, but a contouring procedure for resistant, localized areas that do not respond sufficiently to lifestyle measures.
Treatment planning is always individualized. The most important question is not only “Can fat be removed?” but also: how much skin tightening is needed, how elastic is the tissue, and what result can be achieved safely and naturally?
Available Treatments
FaceTite
FaceTite is used for minimally invasive skin tightening and contour refinement in selected areas. It may be suitable when mild to moderate tissue laxity contributes to a softer contour, especially in the lower face, jawline, and submental region.
FaceTite may be considered for:
Soft jawline definition
Early jowls
Mild to moderate skin laxity in the lower face
Loose tissue under the chin
Early neck contour changes
Patients who need more than injectables or RF microneedling, but are not looking for surgical lifting
The aim is gradual tissue tightening and contour improvement while preserving a natural appearance.
FaceTite + Submental Liposuction
When a double chin is caused by both localized fat and skin laxity, FaceTite may be combined with submental liposuction.
This combination may help address:
Localized fat under the chin
Reduced definition between chin and neck
Soft or heavy submental contour
Mild skin laxity after fat reduction
Early loss of jawline definition
The combination is selected only when both components are present: fat that can be safely reduced and tissue quality that can respond to tightening.
Small-Area Liposuction
Small-area liposuction is used to treat localized fat deposits in carefully selected areas. It is designed for contour refinement, not for general weight loss.
Possible treatment areas include:
Submental area / double chin
- Armpit area / bra fat
- Love handles
- Selected small resistant fat deposits
The treatment area is assessed individually. Skin quality, fat thickness, tissue firmness, body proportions, and healing capacity all influence whether liposuction is suitable.
Treatment Areas
Depending on anatomy and indication, FaceTite and small-area liposuction may be used for:
Lower face
Jawline
Submental area / double chin
Upper neck contour
Armpit area / bra fat
Love handles
Selected small body contour areas
Not every area is suitable for treatment. A medical consultation and examination are required before any procedure is planned.
FaceTite or Liposuction — What Is the Difference?
FaceTite focuses mainly on soft tissue contraction and tightening. It is most relevant when laxity, loose tissue, or loss of definition are the main concerns.
Liposuction focuses mainly on localized fat reduction. It is most relevant when a clear fat deposit contributes to the contour concern.
In many cases, the best result depends on identifying which factor is dominant:
If the concern is mainly loose skin → FaceTite may be more appropriate.
If the concern is mainly localized fat → liposuction may be more appropriate.
If both fat and laxity are present → a combined approach may be recommended.
This distinction is important because removing fat without considering skin quality can lead to an unsatisfactory contour. The treatment plan must respect anatomy, tissue quality, and realistic limitations.
Planning & Safety
Each treatment begins with a detailed medical consultation and physical assessment. The area is evaluated for fat distribution, skin elasticity, tissue thickness, asymmetry, scars, previous treatments, and overall suitability.
Where clinically useful, ultrasound may support assessment of tissue layers or local anatomy. Treatment planning may also include photographic documentation and, when appropriate, 3D analysis to evaluate proportions and contours.
FaceTite and small-area liposuction are minimally invasive medical procedures. They require careful patient selection, sterile technique, anatomical knowledge, and realistic treatment planning.
A treatment is only performed if it is considered medically appropriate and safe. Contraindications, medication use, healing factors, pregnancy, breastfeeding, active infection, unrealistic expectations, or relevant medical conditions may lead to postponement or refusal of treatment.
The goal is always a conservative, safety-focused approach with natural contour improvement.
Procedure & Recovery
The exact procedure depends on the treatment area and whether FaceTite is performed alone or combined with liposuction.
In general, the treatment involves small access points through which the cannula is introduced into the tissue. Controlled energy, fat reduction, or both are applied according to the individualized treatment plan.
After treatment, swelling, bruising, tenderness, firmness, numbness, or temporary irregularity may occur. Compression may be recommended depending on the treated area. Recovery varies between patients and treatment areas.
Final results are not immediate. Swelling needs time to settle, and tissue tightening continues gradually as collagen remodeling develops over the following weeks and months.
Combination Treatments
FaceTite and small-area liposuction may be part of a broader aesthetic strategy, especially when different layers of aging or contour change are involved.
Depending on the individual case, treatment may be combined or staged with:
Biostimulators
To support collagen production, firmness, and tissue quality when skin density or elasticity is reduced.RF Microneedling
To improve surface skin firmness, texture, and collagen remodeling, especially when skin quality needs additional support.Regenerative Treatments
To support healing, hydration, and skin quality with treatments such as PRP, polynucleotides, exosomes, or skinboosters.Dermal Fillers
To restore selected structural support when volume loss contributes to facial imbalance.Aesthetic Botox
To soften downward muscle pull or improve lower-face balance in selected patients.
Combination treatments are planned carefully and may be staged over time to support recovery and avoid overtreatment.
Good to Know
Treatment time
Varies depending on the treated area and whether FaceTite is performed alone or combined with small-area liposuction.
Comfort during treatment
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Additional comfort measures are discussed individually during consultation.
Downtime
Downtime is usually around 5 days, depending on the treated area and individual healing response. Mild swelling, bruising, tenderness, or temporary firmness may occur.
Compression
Compression is recommended after treatment, especially during the first 5 days. The exact duration depends on the treated area and will be explained individually.
When results appear
Results develop gradually. Initial contour improvement may be visible once swelling decreases, while tissue tightening and collagen remodeling continue over the following weeks. Final results are usually assessed after approximately 3–6 months.
How many sessions are needed
Often one treatment is planned for the selected area. Additional treatments or staged procedures may be recommended depending on anatomy, skin quality, and treatment goals.
Scars
The procedure uses small access points. These usually heal very fast and discreetly.
Side effects & risks
As with any minimally invasive medical procedure, temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, firmness, or numbness may occur. Possible side effects, limitations, and individual risks will be discussed in detail during the consultation.
Expectations
The goal is refined contour and natural definition — not weight loss, dramatic lifting, or perfection. Results vary depending on anatomy, tissue quality, healing response, and aftercare.
Not a Weight-Loss Treatment
Small-area liposuction and FaceTite are not substitutes for weight management, nutrition, or lifestyle medicine.
They are designed for selected patients with localized contour concerns, stable weight, and realistic expectations. If weight regulation or metabolic health is the main concern, a medical weight management consultation may be more appropriate.
